Located on 16 private acres near the New River Gorge National Park, The Ponderosa Lodge is West Virginia’s premiere space for large groups up to 32 people, such as church retreats, corporate retreats and family reunions.
A Family Farm and Group Retreat
In the morning, learn about farm life by joining us as we feed and water farm animals and pick fresh, organic fruits and vegetables from the gardens. Then, relax at the lodge or enjoy all of the exciting outdoor activities that the New River Gorge National Park and Preserve is noted for, including whitewater rafting, rock climbing, stand up paddle boarding, fishing, horseback riding, tree canopy tours, boating, and hiking, which are all within easy driving distance. With ten bedrooms and bathrooms accommodating up to 32 people, The Ponderosa Lodge is ideal for large group events such as church retreats, business retreats, family reunions, weddings and anniversaries. We also host and cater private parties. We are conveniently located on Route 60, the Midland Trail, in Fayette County, WV.

Activities at the Lodge
We raise a wide variety of farm animals from Spring to Fall. During your visit to The Ponderosa Lodge, you may see ducks, turkeys, rabbits, cows, sheep, pigs, or goats. All of our farm animals graze on fresh pasture daily behind electrified fences. Their diet is also supplemented with a small amount of feed. There are no animal by-products, hormones, or antibiotics added to the feed.
We invite you to tour the farm with us each morning and evening when we feed and water the animals. At that time, you may ask us any questions that you have about life on a small farm and visit with the animals up close.
Inside the Lodge
The Lodge features 10 bedrooms, each with a private baths. Five of the bedrooms have 2 full beds, one bedroom has 2 queen beds, one bedroom has a king bed, and 3 of the bedrooms have 1 queen bed. With accommodations, dining room seating and real living space for up to 32 people, The Ponderosa Lodge is the perfect setting for group retreats.
