Group Planner
With 10 guest rooms, each with a private bath, The Ponderosa Lodge is the perfect place for family reunions, church retreats, business retreats, and weddings. The open floor plan kitchen, dining room, and great room provide plenty of space for large groups to visit and socialize. The large commercial kitchen is at your disposal. Additionally, the large game room contains ping pong, axe throwing, puzzles, and games for additional relaxation and entertainment. The large covered deck has ample seating for groups to meet outside when the weather is pleasant.
We can help in planning activities, either at The Lodge or nearby, for your group. At the lodge, we provide farm and garden tours, educational nature hikes into our 16 acres of woodlands, and cooking and canning classes. We also work with local partners to organize whitewater rafting on the New River or Gauley River, skiing at Winterplace, rock climbing, fishing, horseback riding, tree canopy tours, bi-plane tours, boating, hiking.

Our Great Room offers ample space for your church retreat to hold meetings or socialize in a casual atmosphere. Our church groups love that their large group is all under one roof and can meet and worship comfortably in the quiet of the mountains.

We’re only a half-day drive for the vast majority of people east of the Mississippi. Here, we’ve hosted corporate retreats for companies such as General Mills, Mattress Warehouse and JB Hunt. Our Great Room offers ample space for meetings or to socialize in a casual atmosphere. If you prefer to meet in a more formal manner, our dining room has seating for 32 people.
