Family Reunions The Ponderosa Lodge is a half-day drive for the vast majority of the U.S. population east of the Mississippi River. With families scattered throughout the United States, the Ponderosa Lodge is a nice mid-way point to meet and visit. The convenience of lodging the whole family in one place, coupled with our huge Great Room for socializing, and plenty of activities at the farm and nearby, makes The Ponderosa Lodge the ideal place to host your next family reunion. This is probably why we have become so popular with family reunions. Our Great Room offers ample space for your family reunion to socialize in a casual atmosphere. The large game room contains ping pong, air hockey, a movie library, puzzles, and games for additional relaxation and entertainment. The large covered deck has ample seating for groups to meet outside when the weather is pleasant. We can help in planning activities, either at The Ponderosa Lodge or nearby, for your family reunion. At the lodge, we provide farm and garden tours, educational nature hikes into our 16 acres of woodlands, and cooking and canning classes. We also work with local partners to organize whitewater rafting on the New River or Gauley River, skiing at Winterplace, rock climbing, fishing, horseback riding, tree canopy tours, bi-plane tours, boating, hiking, or a team building ropes course.
